Production Worker Jobs in Italy | Visa Sponsorship

Production Worker jobs in Italy offer excellent opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers from around the world who want to build a new life in one of Europe’s most culturally rich and economically significant nations. Italy’s manufacturing sector — which spans food and beverage production, automotive components, fashion textiles, ceramics, and industrial machinery — is the second largest in the European Union and employs millions of workers across its northern industrial heartland.

Italy regularly issues work visas for non-EU production and manufacturing workers through its annual Decreto Flussi (Flow Decree) programme. Many Italian employers also offer direct sponsorship and labour market testing certificates for positions that cannot be filled locally. With a strong social security system, paid annual leave, generous employee protections, and the chance to live in one of the world’s most beautiful countries, Italy’s production sector is an outstanding destination for international workers.

As a Production Worker, you will be assigned to a specific production line where you will support continuous food manufacturing operations from raw material preparation through to finished product packaging and palletizing. All safety training, HACCP food hygiene certification, and Italian language basics classes are provided free of charge. This role offers an excellent gateway to permanent employment and Italian residency for non-EU workers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operate food production line machinery including filling machines, sealing units, slicing equipment, and labelling systems under supervisor guidance.
  • Inspect finished food products for quality defects including incorrect weight, damaged packaging, or labelling errors and remove non-conforming items.
  • Pack finished products into consumer units, retail cases, and export pallets in accordance with daily production schedules and client specifications.
  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards throughout the production area including wearing full PPE (hairnet, gloves, coat, and boots).
  • Monitor raw material stock levels on the production line and alert the supervisor when replenishment is required.
  • Perform basic cleaning, sanitizing, and changeover tasks on production line equipment during scheduled downtime intervals.
  • Record production output data, waste quantities, and quality check results accurately in the factory’s digital production management system.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety regulations including Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 requirements on equipment and chemical safety.
  • Participate in end-of-shift production handover briefings and communicate any unresolved issues to the incoming shift team.

What You Bring

  • No formal educational qualification required; HACCP food safety knowledge is an asset but training is provided.
  • Ability to stand for extended shifts of 8–10 hours and perform repetitive manual tasks with speed and consistency.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry packaging materials and finished product cases of up to 25 kg.
  • Willingness to work rotating day and night shifts including weekends on a fortnightly rotation cycle.
  • Basic understanding of food safety principles including personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, and allergen awareness.
  • Reliable and hardworking with a proven commitment to punctuality and shift discipline.
  • Basic conversational Italian or English is preferred; language support classes provided for successful candidates.

Benefits

  • Net monthly salary of €1,600–2,100 including regular overtime, shift premiums, and production bonuses.
  • Italian work visa (Nulla Osta) and residence permit (Permesso di Soggiorno) sponsorship — full cost covered by employer.
  • Shared accommodation arranged near the Parma facility at a subsidized rental cost of €200/month deducted from salary.
  • Company canteen providing free lunch and subsidized breakfast during working shifts.
  • Free Italian language course for non-Italian-speaking employees — 2 hours per week during company time.
  • Italian social security (INPS) contributions paid by employer, qualifying you for Italian pension, healthcare, and unemployment rights.
  • Four weeks paid annual leave per year plus all Italian national public holidays.
  • Free HACCP Level 2 food hygiene certification provided and paid for by the company within the first 60 days.
  • Pathways to Permanent Residency and Italian Citizenship for workers completing three continuous years of employment.
