About the Role
As a House Cleaner with Sparkle Home Services, you will be responsible for delivering premium residential cleaning services to a loyal clientele base in Ottawa and the surrounding National Capital Region. Your duties will involve thorough cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and utility spaces using professional-grade, eco-friendly cleaning products. You will follow standardized Sparkle cleaning checklists to ensure consistent quality across all client homes. The role requires a high degree of trust, professionalism, and attention to detail, as you will often work independently in clients’ private residences. Full training, supplies, and equipment are provided from day one.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform detailed residential cleaning of all rooms including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing surfaces, and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens.
- Follow the Sparkle Home Services cleaning checklist for each property to ensure all tasks are completed to the company’s quality standard.
- Use company-provided, eco-certified cleaning products and equipment safely and according to product instructions.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with clients before, during, and after each cleaning appointment.
- Report any property damage, client concerns, or unusual conditions to the office manager promptly and accurately.
- Manage your daily schedule effectively to arrive punctually at each appointment and complete all tasks within the allotted time.
- Offer optional deep-cleaning or add-on services such as oven cleaning, refrigerator cleaning, and window washing when appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for clients’ personal belongings and property at all times.
What You Bring
- Previous house cleaning, hotel housekeeping, or janitorial experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality results on every visit.
- Reliable and punctual with a professional and friendly attitude toward clients and team members.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs throughout an 8-hour working day.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between client homes (mileage reimbursed).
- Clear background check required due to the nature of working in private residences.
- Basic English communication skills sufficient for reading cleaning checklists and speaking with clients.
