About the Role
As a Factory Helper at NovaTech Foam Industries Ltd., you will support the production team in the manufacture of foam products used across furniture, automotive, and construction industries. Your core tasks will involve feeding raw materials into machines, monitoring output quality, packaging finished goods, and maintaining a clean and safe workstation. You will work under the guidance of experienced operators and supervisors who will train you on all equipment and safety protocols from day one. This is a physically active role suited to motivated individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a team environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators with the setup, feeding, and monitoring of foam cutting and moulding equipment during production runs.
- Transport raw materials from the storage area to the production line using manual or powered pallet jacks.
- Conduct basic visual quality checks on finished foam products and remove defective items from the production line for inspection.
- Package, label, and stack finished foam products onto pallets in accordance with shipping specifications and weight limits.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation by sweeping, removing waste foam scraps, and disposing of materials safely.
- Follow all workplace health and safety protocols including the correct use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or production irregularities to the supervisor immediately.
- Support the receiving and shipping team with loading and unloading deliveries as required during peak periods.
What You Bring
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8 or 10-hour shift.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including morning, afternoon, and night shifts as well as weekends.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles; WHMIS certification is a strong asset.
- Reliable and punctual with a proven track record of good attendance in previous roles.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Forklift or pallet jack experience is an asset but full training will be provided.
- Comfortable working in a light industrial environment with exposure to foam chemicals and machinery noise.
